"Join Audio By Computer" button not displaying on Safari after Web SDK 1.8.1 release

When trying to connect to a meeting from the Safari browser after the Web SDK 1.8.1 release the “Join Audio By Computer” button is not displaying. We are seeing the message “Your browser does not support using the computer’s Audio device. To use Zoom, install the latest version of a standard browser, such as Chrome”. We verified it on Safari 12.x, 13.x, and 14.x with Zoom Web SDK 1.7.8, 1.7.9, 1.7.10, 1.8.0, and 1.8.1. We are noticing the issue in all these cases.

One console error is seen
[Error] Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 () (webim.min.js.map, line 0)

Which version?
1.8.1, 1.8.0, 1.7.10, 1.7.9, and 1.7.8

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Join a meeting from Safari browser as a host or attendee
  2. Notice the “Join Audio By Computer” is not enabled

Device information:

  • Device: MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015)
  • OS: macOS Catalina
  • Version: 10.15.5
  • Browser: Safari 13.1.1 (15609.

Additional context
We are noticing this behavior only after the Web SDK 1.8.1 release. Previously we were able to join a meeting from the Safari browser.
Other Safari versions used for verification - Safari 14.0 (15610., 15610) and Safari 12.0.3 (14606.4.5)

Hi @harish.venkataraman,

Thanks for raising this—at the moment, Join by Computer Audio is not supported in Safari for the Web SDK. You can check out our support browsers here:

Thanks for the reply @will.zoom. Was it removed recently? I remember joining meetings from Safari before Web SDK 1.8.1 release.

Hey @harish.venkataraman,

It was not removed. It has actually never been supported. We are working to support joining with Computer Audio for Safari in the future.

Thanks, @tommy for the reply.
