Local and recurring recordings

I recently created a ZoomMarketplace API for use in our Wordpress member site. There seem to be some settings that are not available and I believe I have enabled the necessary scopes.

We have a 20 weekly 1 hr meetings that we would like to record and allow nonattending members to review. I believe we should add additional cloud storage and automatically delete cloud meetings automatically after 1 week. I believe I can make this change in the Zoom app and have it effect the API.

My iussue is that there is not a setting for creating the meeting that allows for a recording to be cloud and local. Is there a work around or setting I can adjust to see “both” as an option? A work around might be to turn them both on in the app and import the meetings to WP but then I lose the desired option of assigning multiple hosts.

Hi @mistersoader ,

Welcome to the community.
OK. I do wonder what the advantage of doing this all by code. You are not specific about all issues but I will answer what I can.

There is no problem recording all the weekly meeting and in the zoom.us account information you can change the time that reocrdings last. This will need you to ensure you are paying for the correct amount of storage.

You can record locally and in the cloud, but any one copy of zoom is limited to record in one place only. So you would need to have one zoom user doing the local and one doing the cloud recording.
I would not recommend tyring to do these both on one machine,
Please take note that the transcripts can also be automatically created and many are finding them a good source of information, including the summary. All of which should add more value to those looking up old meetings.

Just a note that if you do decide to have cloud recordings deleted after one week that you ensure things like transcripts, which are not available locally, are retained.
You also have 30 days grace while they sit in the deleted folder before going for ever.

I think I am getting a better handle on this. We will have archivists go in after the fact and download the recordings to their local machine. The transcripts are then added to our Wordpress library. The process is fine for me as the super host, but those that have simply logged in to our private member site [ultimate member plugin] do not have access to the past recordings. The link is there but they are getting denied. Even a backup Zoom host cannot view/download. I am playing with the online zoom workplace settings and I found some of the hundreds of scopes that were not on automatically but have not seemed to create the right combination. We would prefer to limit access to the Zoom cloud to at least those that have logged in through Wordpress and accessed the Past Recordings short codes. Can you provide me some direction? Thanks.

hi @mistersoader

I guess the Zoom answer is that we now have CMS for Zoom, as in Content Managment System.
Zoom would encourage you to leave recordings on the platform and share them.
You can also share transcipts and have attendees receive emails of the summaries.
This works really well for those running lots of events.

So there are planty of options within zoom, the kicker is that these are really aimed at the largers and coporate users and such addons can prove exnpensive to the Pro and Business User.

I create and consume alot of content and I am finding that the transciprts are more valuable than the full videos. So, I personally make a priority of making those available and if you can have them searched by an AI then you are going to copy the features that Zoom gives their coroporates at a smaller scale.

Any more detail and I would probalby have to charge

All the best
