The problem is that in mixed meetings, where some participants meet on site and others are connected via Zoom (a very common case) and yet the local participants each have their laptop+microphon, they hear their own voice and that of their local neighbors twice/echoed.
I suggest a feature like “Local group” inside a meeting to make clear who is physically next to each other and therefore does not need their voices streamed.
Another function with a similar effect would be the “Mute for me” option.
This has already been requested, but it can also lead to problems and confusion during a meeting and wasn’t implemented.
At the moment it is really annoying and always a “speak or mute game” for the participants next to each other.
