Lost Text on Screen Share

This is probably a flavor of Prevent Zoom app from taking over computer's focus, but it would be nice for the Web SDK to not “steal” the focus from users when screen sharing begins.

This happens pretty consistently to our users and we see reports of this where someone is typing in the chat window only for the screen share to begin, taking the focus away from chat. The text they were typing is lost.

While I think the broader fix around the change in focus may be a feature request, chat should hold onto the text that is being typed if it all possible.

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to a meeting
  2. Start typing in chat
  3. Another user begins screen share
  4. Observe the message you are typing is lost.

Thank you for reaching out to the Zoom Developer Forum. I was able to reproduce this issue on my end and have since reached out to our engineering team to see if they’ll be able to provide a fix for this.

I’ll be sure to update you when I hear more information from them. (CS-3096)
