Hi, I have a MacBook 12 with a 7th generation Dual Core i5 1.3GHz processor running macOS 10.15 (Catalina) and Zoom 5.0.1
According to https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/210707503-Virtual-Background?mobile_site=true this should be supported
macOS
-
Image only without a physical green screen
- Zoom Desktop Client for Mac, 4.6.0 (13614.1202) or higher
- 4th generation i7 quad-core or higher processor
- 6th generation i5 dual-core or higher processor
Note : 6th generation i5 dual-core processor, requires MacOS 10.14 or higher
When going to the Virtual Background section in settings, I get an error
Your processor (Intel® Core™ i5-7Y54 CPU @1.20GHz) does not meet our recommended specification for virtual background
Note, the processor is actually 1.30GHz so I suspect an error in the detection logic.
Enabling this feature anyway then gives an error "To use virtual background without a green screen, your Mac OS version needs to be 10.13 or higher end, your processor must be an Intel Core i5 with quad-core or better.
This is in conflict with the above webpage which states dual-core is ok. I tested on another machine with a Dual-Core i7 processor and it works ok.
