Panelists have chat disabled when only Attendees' chat should be affected

Panelists can’t chat because it’s disabled.

Which Web Meeting SDK version?

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Join as Panelist
  2. As Host disabled chat for attendees.
  3. Open chat window as Panelist


Device (please complete the following information):

  • Device: Desktop
  • OS:Windows 10
  • Browser: Chrome
  • Browser Version: 96

Additional context
If panelists use the Zoom app, they are able to chat

To follow up on Gianni’s message, I was able to reproduce this with v2.1.1 and this doesn’t seem to be expected behavior so I’ve created a ticket with our engineering team (ZOOM-332761).

To make sure i understand, was this working with previous versions of the Web SDK?

We just realized that it was not the expected behavior. I also tested on versions 1.9.x and it didn’t work either.
