Support for muting audio via the SDK

Thank you for adding this official version of the react-native meeting sdk! I’m excited to eventually switch over to this, but there is one piece of functionality missing that we would need before we made the switch. We currently use the open source version GitHub - mieszko4/react-native-zoom-us, and in that version the Native Wrapper exposes a function muteMyAudio to react native. It’s important for the users of our Healthcare app because they are either struggle to use technology, or they have a disability that we would want to limit the amount of interactions they do for their convenience. Is that something you could add support for in your Native Wrapper?

This would likely go hand in hand with exposing and autoConnectAudio parameter so a user doesn’t have to push a button to join the meeting’s audio via VOIP.

+1. Curious if mute/unmute controls can be added to set default guest state.
We also need a specific scenario where mobile guests can join without having to take off the gloves, or aim at small “unmute” button

Currently, we don’t support muting or unmuting audio before joining/starting a meeting. However, prior to joining/starting a meeting, the preview screen will be shown by default with the default UI and user can mute/unmute themselves first before entering the meeting.

Thank you for replying to my question! Unfortunately, that wasn’t what I was asking. Currently the Android/IOS Meeting SDKs do support auto connecting to the meeting’s VOIP audio, and muting the user’s audio via the SDK. Will you support this functionality in the React Native Meeting SDK in the future?

We provide our patients an Android tablet with our app preloaded on it, and again they generally aren’t the most technologically savvy users, or they have a disability that makes multiple interactions difficult. This auto-join VOIP audio/muting functionality that the third party react-native meeting SDK exposes is a critical part of our user experience.

Currently we do not support that actually. Are you part of our ISV customer or individual customer? Do you already have an Zoom’s AE/SE assigned to you and if so can I have their name so I can check with them on this feature request.

Our Account Executive is Danielle Desso. I’m not sure what ISV customer means, but the company I’m building this for(CareBridge Health) has a corporate contract with Zoom for support.
