Video SDK v2.2.5 for Web -
Problem with disabled “live transcription and translation” for my “zoom video sdk” pay-as-you -go account
Description :
When developing code using the Zoom Video SDK (for web) I am trying to enable “live transcription” per the docs. I am getting this error
{type: ‘INVALID_OPERATION’, reason: ‘Live transcription is not enabled.’, errorCode: 7300} - this occurs on latest chrome and firefox in Windows, and in Safari on MacOS and iOS.
From what I read in the documentation, a special add-on license is required to enable live transcription/translation for the Zoom Video SDK and it says to contact sales, and there is no further information on how to do acquire this add-on. People have expressed frustration in the forums in 2023, 2024, and 2025 that there is no way to do this and that sales people have no answers either (I’ve tried). I did purchase the $5 per month live captioning/translation add-on for my master Zoom Workplace account, but that does not seem to help the Zoom Video SDK issue (and there is no way to assign this license to the Video SDK account that I can see). There are no places in the SDK portal to add any other licenses or add-ons for the Video SDK account.
I have enabled live captions and live transcription/translation in my main workplace admin account, and it makes no difference.
I raised a ticket about this but was told I could only get help here since it was a “configuration” issue. I did raise this issue here weeks ago and have received ZERO responses, so the support on this has been extremely disappointing on all fronts (ie ,tech support ticket, sales, and this forum) – please provide some guidance on this issue.
