Hi everyone,
I’m experiencing an issue with Zoom during meetings. My microphone and audio work perfectly, but whenever I share my screen, participants say the screen freezes or updates very slowly. The meeting itself doesn’t disconnect, and my internet connection appears to be stable.
I’m using the latest version of Zoom on Windows 11 with a dual-monitor setup.
So far I’ve tried:
-
Restarting Zoom.
-
Restarting my computer.
-
Updating my graphics driver.
-
Switching between Wi-Fi and Ethernet.
Has anyone found a reliable fix for this issue?
Solution
I managed to resolve the problem after trying a few different settings.
Here are the steps that fixed it:
-
Update Zoom to the latest version.
-
Go to Settings → Share Screen → Advanced and disable hardware acceleration for screen sharing.
-
Close GPU-intensive applications such as video editors, games, or browsers with many tabs open.
-
Lower your monitor’s refresh rate temporarily if you’re using a high-refresh display.
-
Share only the application window instead of the entire desktop when possible.
-
If you’re using multiple monitors, disconnect the second monitor temporarily to test performance.
-
Restart Zoom after making the changes.
After disabling hardware acceleration for screen sharing, the lag disappeared and participants could see smooth screen updates again.
Hopefully this helps anyone running into the same issue.
