Zoom RTMP Stream Seemingly Stops Arbitrarily

Description

Several customers of ours experienced a problem with the Zoom RTMP stream stopping mid-meeting.

After digging through our logs, the cause seems to be an unpublish command message that our RTMP stream receives from Zoom servers. This command is usually issued at the end of a meeting, when a host leaves a meeting, or when the host manually stops the stream. However, our customers as well as our RTMP server logs confirm that the meeting hosts did not cause the stop of the stream in any way.

This makes it seem like Zoom is terminating the RTMP stream out of the blue.

I am hoping that you might be able to help us determine the cause and address the problem if we provide you with some meeting IDs for which this arbitrary RTMP stoppage occurred.

I and @recordedspeed are developers of the affected app.

Error
No error message, just an unexpected RTMP stream end.

Which App Type (OAuth / Chatbot / JWT / Webhook)?
OAuth

Which Endpoint/s?
Zoom RTMP stream to our servers.

How To Reproduce (If applicable)
Not able to reproduce.

Note that an attempt to reproduce was made by calling the “Update Live Stream” endpoint several times during a meeting (because initially we had thought that updates were the cause) but while the stream staggered due to being updated, it consistently came back after a short delay.

Hey @KGEM,

For RTMP stream issues can you please reach out to support.zoom.us? They will be able to better assist.

Thanks,
Tommy
