Cannot authorize an app with scope report_chat:read:admin

Admin user cannot authorize app with the scope “report_chat:read:admin” despite having been granted permissions by the account owner.

We want to use Get Chat Sessions Report and Get Chat Messages Report API’s. But on adding the scope “report_chat:read:admin”, cannot install the app.

Hi @kannantl @vivek.thetalake

What error message do you see when an admin attempts to authorize the app? Does the user’s role have the Edit permission associated with it?

Thanks,
Will

The error message is:

You cannot authorize <app_name>

You cannot install the app because you don't have the required permissions. Please contact your IT administrator for permission and try again. Edit on Web Portal

For reports, edit permissions are not an option (there are no radio buttons in the Edit column, so there is no way to give or not to give edit permissions).

I’m trying to attach a screenshot for your reference, but the forum does not let me do it – “Sorry, you can’t embed media items in a post.”

Update - We are able to authorize the user as Owner of the account? But Admin users are not able to authorize the App.

Admin users get the following error. How can we allow the admin users to install and use the app?

“You cannot install the app because you don’t have the required permissions. Please contact your IT administrator for permission and try again.”
