Spatial audio streaming

Description
Hi all - I am part of a team at MIT that is wanting to develop a HIPAA compliant streaming platform for a VR application and are looking at using Zoom. Currently with the improved the audio on Zoom we get decent stereo encoding, but we are getting compression with our spatial VR audio data.

Just looking for general feedback - is it possible to access the audio engine to add this sort of customization?

Any guidance (even “no.”) would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @rdmagnu,

Thanks for the post and pardon the late response. With respect to the “audio engine”, are you referring to the audio raw data or the audio processing module in Zoom?

Thanks!

Thanks for the response! I am referring to the audio processing that Zoom is doing over the network. We would like to create a plugin that allows for lossless audio transfer, without the compression of the stereo image. This is possible on other services (i.e., Wowza can currently do this). Getting this into Zoom would be ideal for us (and hopefully others!) because of the HIPAA compliance level.

Thank you!

Hi @rdmagnu,

Thank you for the reply and pardon the late response. The project you are describing sounds so cool. Unfortunately we do not provide the audio processing via SDK at the moment.

You may submit a request here:https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/requests/new or contact one of the education sales: https://zoom.us/education and see if anyone could help.

Thanks!
