Why Are These Permissions Required for OAuth App Integration?

Description

I attempted to connect a Zoom OAuth app(App Marketplace), but the following message was displayed:

You cannot install the app because you don’t have the required permissions. Please contact your IT administrator for permission and try again.

The permissions displayed in the Zoom dashboard under Dashboard and Report and User and Permission Management are:

  • Dashboard and Report → View “Usage reports”
  • User and Permission Management → Edit “Users”

The OAuth app I am trying to connect requires the following scopes:

  • report:read:admin
  • user:read:admin
  • webinar:write:admin, webinar:read:admin

Why are these specific permissions required for the integration?

Hey @devops3
In order for your app to access certain endpoints, your user needs to have the correct permissions enabled under your role.
Make sure that your admin or account owner, grant those settings/permissions to your role

Could you kindly clarify which specific role is required?
The app I’m trying to install requires the following scopes:

  • report:read:admin
  • user:read:admin
  • webinar:write:admin, webinar:read:admin

Does this mean the user needs a role that corresponds to these scopes?

It’s possible to get user interface help for the needed permissions; I swapped in the application ID from your URL to produce this link to Zoom Account Role Privileges Required for Zoom for Kairos3. There, you can see what each scope’s display name maps to for required role privileges:
