Developer privileges

Hi Everyone,

Is there anyway to request developer privileges without having to contact directly the Zoom admin?
Some sort of link where you can ask for the privileges?

Thank you,

Hey @monroche,

Have you tried using https://marketplace.zoom.us/ without developer privileges? It should work except for installing / developing Account Level apps (which then you would need to contact your account admin).

Thanks,
Tommy

Hi Tommy,

Thanks for your answer.
I am trying to create a JWT app but as you can see below the button is greyed out and it is asking me to get developer privileges:

I was wondering if there was a way on the marketplace to request developer privileges using a form or whatever way (that would send automatically an email to the zoom admin in my company) instead of directly contacting the zoom admin to change my privileges.

Thanks,

Hey @monroche,

Unfortunately we do not have a form to request developer privileges from your Zoom Account Admin.

Feel free to send him these instructions to give you the developer privilege:

Thanks,
Tommy

Hi @tommy,

I actually sent the steps to my admin but he doesn’t see the same thing on https://zoom.us/role, see below:

Do you know why?

Hey @monroche,

When you click on one of the existing role names, or create a new role, you will be able to see the permissions as I shared above.

Thanks,
Tommy

Thanks @tommy, so let’s say the admin clicks on Member, will he be able to assign the developer permission only to me from this page. Or is it a page where you generally assign permissions to a role and then you have to assign the role to a user on another page? If it is the second case where is the page to assign a role to a user?
Also I should be the only one to get these permissions, so should the admin create a new role, specify the permissions and assign the role to me?

Hey @monroche,

Here are instructions on how to add a new role and assign a user to it:

I suggest your admin create a role named “Developer” here: https://zoom.us/role and then add you to it and check any permissions you need as well as "“Marketplace”, “Developer”, and “Integration”.

Thanks,
Tommy

Hi, My account admin has provided “Marketplace”, “Developer”, and “Integration” but the Zoom Integration page still says I don’t have Developer Privilege… Please help?

Hey @tim.covert, can you specify which pages you’re referring to? The legacy Integrations page is in the process of moving to the Marketplace.

Zoom for developers role gives you the ability to view and edit account-level apps on the Marketplace.

Marketplace role gives you the ability to view and edit Marketplace installation settings for all users on your account.

Neither of these will influence your use of Integrations.

If you are logged into the Marketplace and your Role Permissions have changed you may need to log out and back in to have these changes reflected.

Thank you for the prompt response @michael.zoom! How do I check if I have the Zoom for Developers role?

@tim.covert the quickest route is to go to https://marketplace.zoom.us and click Develop > Build an App. If you have Developer role, you’ll be able to create and view JWT & SDK apps.

Otherwise, a Zoom Admin will have the ability to change your Role Permissions
