Can't download zoom_i686.tar.xz

Hi. I can’t download zoom_i686.tar.xz - redirected to cloudfront and return xml with “Access Denied”.
Here is download link from zoom download page:
https://zoom.us/client/latest/zoom_i686.tar.xz

Other users got this too and created mirror: https://github.com/Botspot/zoom_686_mirror

Fix it please!

Same issue here.
This is unacceptable!

Hey @q4a, @Botspot,

Are you still seeing this issue? Please try downloading from: https://zoom.us/download

If you are still having issues, please reach out to support.zoom.us.

Thanks,
Tommy

Yes, I am still having the same issue.

You try: https://zoom.us/download -> Linux OS -> Other Linux OS -> 32 bit-> Download. It does not work.

Nothing has changed, despite there being several threads on stackexchange.com!

Thanks @Botspot, I have just notified our support escalation team internally as well.

Can you please share the threads to the stack exchange you are referring to?

Sure - here’s the stackexchange thread I saw: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1300345/32-bit-version-of-zoom-for-ubuntu

I’ve had to set up my own mirror for all Raspberry Pi users. Speaking of Raspberry Pi support, do you know if Zoom ever plans to release ARM linux releases for the Raspberry Pi platform?

Same here. Still “Access Denied”.

Hey @q4a, @Botspot,

Thanks for the info, we are working on fixing this.

I suggest asking this in support.zoom.us or Sending feedback to Zoom - Zoom Support

How to actually talk to a person in support.zoom.us?
AFAIK, they are only offering support pages to free account users. No real customer-service support.

I’m not Raspberry Pi user, but I use another Arm board and also interested in ARM linux version.
Or at least web version with support receiving calls, add + edit contacts and chating with my contacts.

Linux version download fixed!
Yes, this link still is not valid - https://zoom.us/client/latest/zoom_i686.tar.xz
But if you open https://zoom.us/download in Linux, select Other Linux OS -> 32 bit-> Download
You will download zoom_i686.tar.xz version 5.4.53391.1108.

Thanks!

@q4a The download works for me now too!

@tommy, could I help with getting Zoom working on the Raspberry Pi platform?
I have good programming knowledge, and personally know many of the best developers in the world.
If there’s anything I could help with, be it testing, diagnosing, or actually doing development, count me in.

Hey @q4a, @Botspot,

Happy to hear the Linux download is working again!

@Botspot, sure, you are welcome to create a Open Source GitHub project for this, or apply to a job on the engineering team!

Thanks,
Tommy

I already have two github repositories dedicated to emulating the 32bit Linux version of Zoom on the Raspberry Pi. Emulation works fairly well, and 2,971 people have installed it from my Raspberry Pi app store, but emulation is slow, and is not hardware accelerated.

If a native armhf Zoom build could be released, that would be much better performance-wise.
I’d be glad to compile such a build myself, but without access to the Zoom desktop app’s source code, compiling it is impossible.

Whoever makes the armhf build must have the source code to start with. Any suggestions?

Hey @Botspot,

My suggestion for you is to see if anyone else has submitted a released feature request here: #feature-requests

Once we get lots of interest, we can dedicate some resources to doing something like this.

Thanks,
Tommy

Actually, there is a Raspberry Pi feature request. And it has a large amount of attention.
